In contrast to traditional methods of delivering fuel through an injector in the intake track before the intake valve, Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines implement a unique approach. GDI engines disperse a very fine fuel mist directly into the combustion chamber, earning them the title “Direct Injection.” These direct injectors operate effectively at varying fuel pressures, ranging from 450 to 3000 Psi. A mechanically driven and electronically controlled high-pressure fuel pump is employed to pressurise the fuel to achieve these precise pressure levels. The downside to this technology is that the injector tips are exposed to extremely high heat and carbon deposits from the combustion process.

Maintaining clean and efficient diesel injectors is crucial for optimised engine performance. When fuel injectors are operating correctly, they deliver fuel in a finely atomised mist, resulting in clean combustion and maximum fuel utilisation.

In time, residue tends to accumulate at the tips of fuel injectors, especially when fuel remains in the injector tips after the engine is turned off. Below we have illustrated three stages of injector seat cutting. The first picture shows a very dirty injector seat due to a failed injector seal. The second picture shows us a partially cleaned seat, there we can see the damage to the cylinder head material in this case aluminium. One the final picture, the injector seat has been re-cut to ensure that the a 100% seal against compression loss.

  • Initial Flow Testing

Upon receiving your injectors, we perform an initial flow test, which includes inspections for leaks, Ohm testing, assessment of spray patterns, pulse operation, and verification of flow rates. If your injectors are found to be functioning correctly, we will contact you for authorization before proceeding with cleaning. This approach helps keep costs to a minimum and ensures swift service.

  • Complete Ultrasonic Cleaning

We immerse your injectors in an ultrasonic bath while simultaneously pulsing and back-flushing them. This process effectively eliminates all debris and deposits within the injectors, often resulting in restored functionality, akin to new injectors.

  • Post-Cleaning Test

After cleaning, we conduct a flow test once more to confirm that all injectors are performing optimally. We strive to return your injectors to you promptly.

  • Flow Data Sheet

You will receive a flow sheet containing data from both the initial and post-cleaning tests. It provides a fascinating comparison between used, dirty fuel injectors and the cleaned units. Refer to the example datasheet for more details.

  • Seal and Filter Replacement

As part of the service, we replace all standard injector seals. To ensure we match the appropriate seals for your vehicle, please include the injector seals with your injectors. Additionally, some injectors incorporate an internal screen or ‘filter basket,’ which we can replace as needed.

  • Pintle Caps

Injector pintle caps are often in good condition and may not require replacement. However, if you have broken or missing pintle caps, we can typically replace them. Please note that some injectors feature unique caps, which may require special ordering and additional costs. We will contact you to discuss this if necessary.
